Help! I Don't Want to Be a Bridezilla!
Dear Krissy,
I am busy planning my wedding, but as with any new bride, I'm starting to get a little nervous. What's making me even more apprehensive is the fact that we're going to hold our wedding in the town that my fiance grew up in, so I'm not extremely familiar with the area. I'm hoping that you can help me out with some questions.
How far in advance should I book my services at the local salon? Is it normal to schedule a consultation for my wedding day hair style so I can feel comfortable with my choice in salon?
Could I ask for them to send me photos of the hair and make-up that they've done for other brides?
Is all of this asking too much? On one hand, I'm nervous about coordinating a long-distance wedding and want everything to be perfect. But on the other hand, I don't want to feel like a BRIDEZILLA!
Kristi, Fort Myers
Dear Kristi,
This is a GREAT set of questions and I would be happy to answer all of them. As soon as you make your decision on the salon you would like to use, I would suggest booking your appointments as soon as possible, especially if it is a popular area for destination weddings. You want to make sure that you get the date and times that you want and not just what the salon has left. We always recommend a consultation, so that you can make sure there is no missed communication between you and your hair stylist. That will give you "peace of mind" and one less thing to worry about. As for requesting photos of work they've done on previous bridal parties, I think that is a great idea and they should not mind you asking. Best wishes! You're sure to be a beautiful bride!
