Thanks!

It makes our day to get feedback from happy clients!

My mom, sisters, and I had our hair done at your salon for my wedding. Thank you so much for your skilled and friendly service to us. We were so glad that we chose your salon – it exceeded our expectations. Everyone was so nice. We had a wonderful time and were all very impressed by your work.

Thank you again!!!!

Tame the frizz

If you suffer from frizzy hair your towel could be to blame. The texture of a regular towel can cause a lot of friction turning your hair into one super frizzball! Try first squeezing the excess water from your hair and then blot your hair with an absorbent PAPER towel (yes, I said paper towel, the more absorbent the better). This will help to keep your hair smooth and frizz-free. Follow this with styling products that work best for your hair type.

Formula Faux Pas

Dear Krissy,
When I moved to TX I brought my hair formula with me. My hairdresser in TX and I tweaked the color and I'm very happy with it. My hairdresser retired and I went to another hairdresser in the same salon but I decided to leave that salon and asked for my formula. The owner of the salon said she would not give it to me. Do I have any recourse in obtaining the formula?

Thanks,
Peggy

Dear Peggy,
I am sorry to hear about your situation! Unfortunately in this business this can be a common problem. Salons sometimes feel that if they refuse to give you your color you will remain a client to keep the same formula. By trying to keep one client they may end up losing more depending on who that client knows that goes to that salon. Our belief here at the Esterra Spa & Salon is that if our client wants their formula we gladly give it to them no matter the circumstance.

You can continue to ask for the formula, but the good news is even if they keep refusing to give it to you, a salon that specializes in color will likely be able to match it.

My advice to you would be to ask some questions before choosing a new salon, like what their policy is on color - are they there to make the client happy (will they give you your color if you request it)? If so, you have probably found yourself a great salon that strives to please all clients!

Good luck!

Help - Pink Hair!

Dear Krissy,
Help, my hair is turning pink! I have naturally brown hair and decided to dye it fire engine red with blonde streaks. Now the streaks are turning pink, what should I do?

Michele, Cape Coral

Hi Michelle,
It sounds like the red streaks are bleeding into your blonde streaks. Your hair stylist should be able to correct this. In the future, you could try separating the streaks when washing your hair. An easy way to do this is to apply a very thick conditioner to the blonde hair which will act as a barrier and protect it from the red dye.
Good luck!

Confused about Reflexology

Dear Krissy,
Why do people get reflexology on their feet? Is a foot massage during a full body the same thing?

Carl, Cape Coral

Hi Carl,
Reflexology is a targeted treatment that many people choose to do rather than or in addition to a full body massage. With reflexology you can work on internal organs which might be helpful for people suffering from digestion, constipation and many other problems. A general massage just focuses on the muscles. This is why massage and reflexology make a great combination!
