Using Massage for Pain Relief

Dear Krissy,
I have Fibromyalgia and have been told by many people that massage can help. What is your opinion?

Alyssa, Bonita Springs

Massage can provide beneficial results for those suffering from the pain and discomfort caused by Fibromyalgia. For example, many of our clients who suffer from this condition experience trouble sleeping and massage helps to relax them enough to get a good night's sleep, along with easing their pain and discomfort. There are many different massages that could help, and the choices are really based on an individual basis. I hope you find the relief you're looking for. Best wishes.

Jumping into Reflexology "Feet First"!

Dear Krissy,
I have heard a lot about reflexology. I'm interested in it because I think I would benefit from massage, but I am not a fan of being touched. Do you think reflexology would be a good alternative to a full-body massage?

Mike, Cape Coral

This would be an extremely beneficial option for you to try, as you are able to massage all parts of the body through "reflexology points" in your feet. It is also a great way to correct different problems you might be having physically, because you are able to also pinpoint different organs, etc. through reflexology on the foot. Since you do not like your full body to be touched, you will be happy to know that you will receive the benefits of a full-body massage every time you receive a reflexology treatment. So I recommend that you heartily jump into this treatment "feet first" and enjoy!
