    Dear Krissy,

I am down here for the season and need a good massage.  The other night I was doing dishes when all of a sudden I got the worst pain I have ever had in my lower back.  When I woke up the next morning it had not gotten any better and that was after a night of Advil, hot packs, and ice.  When I went to the doctor out of desperation that day in fear of something horrible like a kidney stone or something they told me what I needed was a good massage.  Does your spa do that type of therapeutic treatment?

    Sherry, Cape Coral

    Dear Sherry,

Absolutely!  Especially with your doctors OK there are so many different therapeutic massage modalities that would help you to feel better fast.  Many times when you are in need of this type of therapy more than one massage may be suggested depending on your progress from the first treatment.

    Dear Krissy,

I have been thinking about getting a massage because I really need to relax.  I know there are many different types of massages and I want to choose the right one.  I do not like anything that is going to hurt so what type of massage would be best for me?

    Claire, Fort Myers

    Dear Claire,

You are definitely on the right track to relaxation!!  Massage is the best spa service to help somebody to relax.  I would recommend either a Swedish massage which is a light relaxing massage or a hot stone massage which is also relaxing but with the added benefit of heated stones that will make your muscles melt!  Either one of these would be extremely relaxing and definitely guaranteed not to hurt!

    Dear Krissy,
I have Fibromyalgia and have been told by many people that massage can help. What is your opinion?

    Alyssa, Bonita Springs

Massage can provide beneficial results for those suffering from the pain and discomfort caused by Fibromyalgia. For example, many of our clients who suffer from this condition experience trouble sleeping and massage helps to relax them enough to get a good night’s sleep, along with easing their pain and discomfort. There are many different massages that could help, and the choices are really based on an individual basis. I hope you find the relief you’re looking for. Best wishes.

    Dear Krissy,
I have been having trouble sleeping at night. Do you think a massage might help?

    Sleepless in Fort Myers Beach

    Dear Sleepless,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having this problem. There are many reasons that someone might have difficulty sleeping, and massage may certainly help, depending on the reason. First, it will be important for you to determine exactly why you’re experiencing trouble sleeping at night. Could it be due to stress, muscle discomfort, or could it be something more serious? Many of our clients that come in on a regular basis use their massage time as a way of catching some zzzz’s. A combination of a relaxing atmosphere and the aid of massage can give people the stress relief that they need to shut their mind down and relax. Other people who cannot sleep because of pain or discomfort can benefit from a more therapeutic massage to rid them of that problem so they can get a better night’s rest. If you think that your problem might be more severe than what I’ve mentioned, please consider consulting your family physician.
